The Sound of Muons: An Audible Exploration of Our Radiation Environment

Carl Willis

Lecturer and Senior Reactor Operator, UNM Nuclear Engineering Dept.
Senior Research Engineer for Verus Research

We are under constant bombardment by ionizing radiation of many types, arising from a variety of sources. Come listen to this radiation “sing” about itself as we explore energy spectroscopy of ionizing radiation, translated into visible and audible landscapes our senses can appreciate. Participants are encouraged to bring objects they think might be radioactive to add an element of surprise to the evening.
