Weighing In: Problem Solving Through Design Thinking

with Design Plus

Design Plus/Indigo Moose’s learning project with Science on Tap seeks to highlight the

massive connections between the fields of science and design as they continue to overlap

and inform one another; becoming further contiguous year after year. Design Plus will

offer a short presentation about our recent design efforts and some hands on, collaborative

activities that will engage critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Design Plus is a collaboration driven Architecture and Design firm with experience

throughout Public and Private Sector projects. Recent work such as the El Vado

development has focused on both the creation and reinvigoration of key cultural fixtures

throughout Albuquerque metro as the city comes into its own. The educational branch of

the firm, Indigo Moose seeks to break down barriers and encourage collaboration between

various disciplines. Math, art, engineering, population health, and architecture all build

upon one another in interdisciplinary project based classes instigated by Pop Up Design

Studios, elementary learning, summer camp studios, and teacher training.
